The holiday season carries a certain magic, from twinkling lights and star-shaped lanterns to the crisp winter air and the sound of carols all around.

CHALLENGE:
Bombay Sweet Shop wanted to celebrate the festive spirit of Christmas while staying rooted in its identity as a modern Indian mithai house. The goal was to create packaging that felt joyful, larger than life, and gift-worthy.

SOLUTION:
Inspired by extravagant Indian tablescapes, intricate patterns, and classic holiday ornaments, I crafted playful visual stories that transformed each box into a festive celebration. The packaging was designed to capture the magic and cheer of Christmas in a large, full-of-life, and exciting way.

The visual storytelling came to life through playful contrasts, varying scales, vibrant colors, and dynamic use of space. Drawing from holiday storytelling and fables, the design featured whimsical scenes, like a tiny BSS bee circling a giant bauble and a cheerful BSS elephant pulling a festive sled down an oversized candy cane.

The playful spirit of the mithai seamlessly translated into the packaging design. Thoughtful design choices turned the festive edition into a cherished keepsake, and premium printing techniques like gold foiling and embossing added a special touch of magic. It elevated the unboxing experience into something truly unique and memorable.
The special edition Christmas box received widespread acclaim, earning features in publications like Harper’s Bazaar India and Free Press Journal as one of the season’s most gift-worthy offerings, cementing its place as a festive favourite.
